Stay Smarter

Try to get an inner courtyard and pool facing room. The hotel is built around this central oasis, so having a view of the garden and water completes the experience. These rooms are brighter and feel more open than the outer perimeter wall or parking facing rooms. Sitting on the terrace of a courtyard room with morning coffee is one of the most pleasant aspects of staying here.

The hotel is surrounded by lush tropical gardens, and at the same time quite near to the lagoon and sea, therefore mosquitoes! The hotel will hopefully remember to fix nets over the beds and spray the rooms with some insecticide but you should bring a good quality repellent for use while sitting outside in the restaurant or by the pool in the evenings. Light long-sleeved clothing at dinner is also a smart precaution against bites.

Also remember that the hotel is a bit far from banks and ATMs. Make sure to get enough cash (West African CFA Francs) on your way from either the city center or airport before heading here. Most probably, the hotel restaurant would accept credit cards but play safe because sometimes there could be network failures in this area; ensure you have some cash so that at least you can always pay for your meals, tip any of the staff or buy small items from any local vendor around without stress.
